Overview

Copy Clean Text is a browser extension that cleans selected text and copies it as plain text. The extension runs locally in your browser. This page explains what data is processed by the extension, our website, and the optional Pro upgrade.

Data collection (Extension)

• No personal data is collected by the extension. We do not send the text you copy to any external server.
• No analytics, no cookies, no ads.
• Settings you toggle in the popup (e.g., keep paragraphs) are stored via the browser’s storage API.

Permissions (Extension)

The extension requests minimal permissions needed to work:

• activeTab and scripting — to run the cleaning script on the page you’re viewing after your action.
• storage — to save your preferences.
• contextMenus — to show “Copy clean text” in the right-click menu.
• clipboardRead / clipboardWrite — used only for the Pro feature “Clean clipboard text” when you click its button.

Payments & Accounts (Pro)

Payments for the optional Pro upgrade are handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe to process transactions. We do not process or store your card details.

• When you purchase Pro, ExtensionPay creates an account tied to your email — no license key is issued.
• We may receive limited order information (e.g., email address, plan, payment status, and order ID) from ExtensionPay/Stripe to deliver Pro access and provide support.
• The extension verifies your paid status directly with ExtensionPay to activate Pro features; we do not operate our own licensing server.

Legal basis: contract performance (deliver Pro access) and legitimate interests (fraud prevention, support).

Retention: order/account records are retained by ExtensionPay/Stripe for legal, tax, and support purposes.

Website analytics

Our website may use privacy-friendly analytics (e.g., Plausible/Umami) to measure page views only, without cookies or personal identifiers. The browser extension itself does not include analytics.

Your choices

• You can remove the extension at any time via chrome://extensions.
• You can clear extension settings via your browser’s extension settings.
